In celebration of this blog moving over to Typepad I figured I should add a few pics of our new woodshed. I built it this past year using local hemlock and some basic post and beam joinery. I always wanted to do a post and beam building, and now that I have done one my yearning is sufficiently quieted. It was very cool and challenging but not the fastest process--which is the point, really. It is a deliberative form of building that focuses on process and art as opposed to speed and efficiency. While I am extremely proud of how this handsome little shed looks, I plan on the next one being of a more standard design, just so it doesn't take me another year to finish it.
Richard,
I am thinking of building a firstday and like what you have done. I am curious about your entryway. I can make out a closet on the left of the door and then the builtin storage--stairs on right. Is that correct. Can you share a pic of this?Is there a bathroom off the downstairs room? I think I saw a shower and sink but no toilet.
Upstairs where is the bathroom in relationship to the bedrooms.
I will be building on a slab so i need to have a utility space on the first floor.
did you use the windows that came with the kit? How are they?
Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed
